Fellows Program in Aging, Hearing, and Public Health

The application process for the East Asian Fellows Summer 2019 Program is now closed and all applicants have been notified of acceptance status.


In this inaugural year of our program, we received an unprecedented 109 applications.  Thank you to everyone who applied.  Our intention is to offer this opportunity in subsequent years.  All lectures from this year's curriculum will be recorded and made available on the Cochlear Center website following the conclusion of the program.

The inaugural East Asian Fellows Program in Aging, Hearing, and Public Health was held July 15 - 19, 2019 at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland.


The purpose of this one-week program is to provide an overview of public health concepts, methods, and strategies to assist clinicians and researchers in East Asia who are pursuing public health research and projects focused on addressing hearing loss in older adults. Lectures and small group sessions will cover epidemiology, biostatistics, clinical trials, gerontology, intervention design, health policy/economics, and select clinical topics in otolaryngology, audiology, and geriatrics.
