Bio

Jalisa Bass is a research program coordinator in the Department of Otolaryngology who primarily serves to assist the management of HEARS projects within the Cochlear Center for Hearing and Public Health. She obtained her B.S. in Psychology from Kent State University in 2020 and is currently working towards her M.A. in Nonprofit Management at Johns Hopkins University Advanced Academic Programs.

Much of Bass's work entails the analysis and education of cognitive and physical effects in relation to hearing loss, as well as investigating ways to improve inclusive access to hearing care. Her overall research interests include health education, provider communication, patient outcomes, and exploring the bidirectional relationships between mental and physical health. Her aim is to strive for the advancement of marginalized populations through the implementation of prevention initiatives and community-based programming with the goal of reducing rates of adverse health outcomes and standardizing integrated patient care.
